About the project

The Ramón Inglés Capella Digital Archive was born from Yel Martínez's personal collection, with the aim of documenting and preserving the artistic legacy of Valencian sculptor and ceramicist Ramón Inglés Capella (1932–1997) and his sister, painter Josefina "Fina" Inglés Capella, co-creator of the factory's porcelain doll line.

"It all started barely two or three years ago, with the purchase of my first Arlequín. I fell in love with these dolls straight away. As I acquired new pieces, the sellers themselves revealed fragments of their history to me; I visited Bétera, kept researching, and discovered how hard it was to find reliable, well-organised information online, despite the quality and uniqueness of their work. That lack of documentation set me a goal: to recover and organise as much as possible about both artists. That's how I met Rafael Solaz, whose scattered historical archive I also set out to reconstruct. Besides consulting him whenever I can, I've had the chance to follow his collection of antiques and dolls, some truly exceptional."

Methodology

Each piece in the catalogue belongs to the archive author's own collection and is documented with original photography, a technical record (size, material, authenticity mark) and a verification checksum for each photograph, following digital preservation criteria inspired by the OAIS reference model (ISO 14721).

All biographical and historical information is cross-checked against reliable sources — chiefly the academic work of Antonio Ten Ros (Universitat de València) and the documentation from the Centre d'Estudis Locals de Bétera — and is explicitly distinguished from oral tradition or unverified legend whenever the latter is mentioned.
